Join the Golden Rockets for an Action-Packed Hockey School This August!
The Golden Rockets are excited to announce their upcoming Hockey School, scheduled for August 24 to 26, 2025, at the Golden & District Arena. Players will sharpen their skills, compete in fun challenges, and learn from experienced coaches – all while making great friends along the way. This three-day camp is designed for hockey players of all levels who want to skate faster, shoot harder, and think quicker on the ice and prepare for the upcoming season. But it’s not just about drills – expect exciting small-area games, off-ice competitions, and tons of fun!
Camp Details;
- Dates: Sunday, August 24 to Tuesday, August 26, 2025
- Location: Golden & District Arena, 1410 9th St. S., Golden, BC
- Participants: Open to youth hockey players (u7 to U18) aiming to improve their on-ice and off-ice skills. Players will be split into groups dependent upon age and ability.
- Instructors: Led by the Golden Rockets coaching team supported on the ice by some of our current players.
Example Daily Schedule Overview:
- 8:30 AM – 8:45 AM: Registration
- 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM: Dryland Training or Skill Session on Ice
- 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM: Skill Session on Ice or Theory Session
- 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM: Theory Session or Ice Session with Analysis
- 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM: Lunch Break
- 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM: Off-Ice Games
- 1:45 PM – 2:30 PM: Ice Session with Analysis or Dryland Training
- 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Pickup
Highlights of the Camp:
- Stride and Shot Analysis: Participants will receive personalized feedback to improve their skating and shooting techniques. Get faster with our on-ice stride analysis & improve your shot with expert breakdowns and real-time feedback.
- Theory Sessions: Focused on skating mechanics, shooting accuracy, deception, and scanning to enhance game intelligence. All adapted to make sure it is age appropriate.
- Dryland Training; Off-Ice Fun & Challenges: Off-ice conditioning to boost strength, agility, and overall athletic performance.
- Small Area Games: Designed to improve decision-making, puck handling, and situational awareness in confined spaces.
