Everything you need to support your player – organized in one place!
Welcome billet families!
Thank you for opening your home and heart to our players. This page is your one-stop resource for everything you’ll need during the season including expectations, schedules, contact numbers, forms and who to call when things get tricky.
2025-26 Season Schedule
As a billet family, you will all receive season tickets to all of our home games! All away games are broadcasted live through FloHockey at an additional cost to you (if you want to purchase a subscription … it’s not necessary though). We hope to see you in the stands!

2025-26 Special Events
Mark your calendars – you won’t want to miss these special events!
Billeting Policy
Our billeting policy is designed to provide players with a safe, supportive, and welcoming home environment while outlining clear expectations for both the host family and the athlete throughout the season.
Billeting Handbook
Billet families are the heart of our organization! Without you, we wouldn’t be successful as an organization.
Player Support & Emergencies
Throughout the season, there may be times that your athlete struggles either mentally, emotionally, or physically. As you are the primary care giver for them, it is important to communicate with them and the organization if you notice him declining. We will do our best to ensure that host families, players, and players’ families feel supported throughout the season.
If your player is injured and requires medical attention, the designated medical personnel will contact you to support your player. We will also notify their parents/emergency contact. If you are unavailable on a game night, please notify the billet coordinator so that other arrangements can be made in an emergency.
Player Issues or Concerns
Although you are not the player’s parent, you will need to set rules and expectations for him to follow while he’s living in your home. The player must respect your house rules and be accountable if he doesn’t follow them. Likewise, he needs to follow the code of conduct, expectation and team schedule set forth by the coaches for the team.
While the billet experience is, for the most part, a positive and enriching one, occasionally the situation does arise when the player/family match does not work out. Sometimes chemistry or expectations might be lacking, which results in a relationship that cannot continue in a positive manner for one or both parties involved.
In that event, the Golden Rockets will do whatever we can to make the necessary changes so that the player, his parents, and the billet family are happy and comfortable with their arrangements. Please feel free to contact the Billet Coordinator with any concerns immediately – do not wait until the end of the season!
Things you are NOT responsible for!
- Unlimited Food -Billet families are not responsible for supplying an unlimited amount of food or snacks, nor are they expected to provide meals in an erratic schedule. Players must eat what is a reasonable menu and should conform to the meal schedule of the billet family.
- Non-Essential Items -The purchase of non-essential items by the players is not financial responsibility of the billet families. Players must provide for those items, which include things such as cologne, magazines, medications, etc.
- Transportation -Players are required to provide for their own transportation. However, if a billet family chooses to provide transportation, it is highly recommended that the player is not allowed to drive a billet family vehicle. If a player is allowed to drive a billet family vehicle, the family should verify insurance coverage for the player with their insurance agency in advance.
- Long Distance Telephone -Players are prohibited from using the billet family telephone for long distance calls. Each player must utilize a personal cell phone or provide a calling card if using a billet family phone for long distance purposes.
- Electronics -Billet families are not required to place televisions, telephones, stereos, computers, or any other electronics equipment in the player’s room. If the family has a television in that room and wishes to leave it there for the player’s use, that is appropriate, however, it is not required.

We want your photos!
We are always looking for photos or videos of everyday life with your family and your billet. Thanksgiving dinner, family trivia night, playing mini-sticks with the kids … or just hanging out with the family pet – please capture some of these moments and share them with us (and your billet’s family!). These are memories that will last a lifetime. Text them to our Billet Coordinator or email billets@goldenrockets.com. And if you post them, please tag us!
