Aleksander Jirousek of the Golden Rockets has committed to play for the Portage College Voyageurs in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.
In 33 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League games, Jirousek posted three goals and 10 points. In 61 career KIJHL regular season games, Jirousek had 14 points and 242 penalty minutes. The Whitehorse product helped the Rockets qualify for the KIJHL Teck Cup playoffs in his two seasons.
“Sasa developed into a strong presence on the blueline,” said Rockets Head Coach-GM Chuck Wight. “He was a charismatic and vocal leader that will be missed. The Rockets would like to thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best with his college pursuits.”
