Grand Forks Border Bruin Hunter Wood, Golden Rockets Michael O’Sullivan and Beaver Valley Nitehawks Brennan Wilson have been named the Instat KIJHL’s 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending Nov. 21.
F- Wood – 1st Star – The Regina, Sask., product helped the Border Bruins earn their first point of the season in a 3-2 shootout loss versus Golden. Wood setup teammate Davis Hunter on a 2-2 goal with a second remaining in regulation time. He also assisted on one of the three-unanswered goals scored to force overtime against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats. Wood finished with two goals and four points in three games. For the season, Wood has two goals and six points in 10 games.
G- O’Sullivan – 2nd Star- The Winnipeg product turned aside 74 of 77 shots, including two in a shootout to help the Rockets earn two wins over Fernie and Grand Forks. O’Sullivan had a .961 save percentage with a 1.44 goals against average. In seven games this season, O’Sullivan has five wins with a .937 save percentage and a 2.38 goals against average.
D- Wilson – 3rd Star – The Grand Prairie, Alberta product had three points in two games – both victories over Nelson. Wilson netted a winning goal and then assisted on the first goal en route to a 3-1 win. Wilson is second on the Nitehawks’ blueline with 11 points in 16 games.
